*** Online shopping is not available in February 2018 ***
We have a very limited number of particular clothes. Each design is hand - printed by us, max one hundred times (most of them around only 50), which means that only 50 T-SHIRTS with one design exist in this world. Each print is numbered and signed, like prints in artistic printmaking (intaglio, woodcut, etc.), so buying a T-SHIRT with the number "001" you can be sure that it is the only one of its kind in the world.
This is NOT screen - printing. Every print block is made from the first sketch to the real printing block by our hands. We are using only pencils, markers, block cutters, engravers, shapers.
We are like organic carrots. Every t-shirt is a little bit different than another. Printing blocks - as in artistic relief printing - are hand-made, we also hand-print them, so sometimes there are some imperfections. We are offering you only ORGANIC clothes.
with every T-SHIRT we are sending you our 100%eco bag
Little bit of history
Relief printing is the oldest form of printmaking. The most common forms of relief printing are woodcut and linocut. An ink drawing is made on a wood/lino block. The artist cuts away uninked areas, leaving inked areas raised. Printing ink is applied to the raised surface and a sheet of paper is laid on the block to take an impression by hand or a press.
Woodcut printing on paper was first adopted in the seventh century China, where drawing and text were reproduces on the same block. A hundred years after paper reached Europe, the use of woodcut in the development of printing was established in the late fourteenth century Germany. Albrecht Dürer explored the technique of the medium of woodcut, elevating it as an independent form of art, not only a way of printing text. Hundreds years later in 1905 a handful of German painters formed themselves into a revolutionary group, The Bridge. The linocut process was introduced in the beginning of the 20th century. This process of printmaking is similar to woodcut. The artists of the Taller de Gráfica Popular (People’s Graphics Workshop), a printmaking workshop founded in Mexico City in 1937, made effective use of the linocut in their powerful graphic posters. After Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse used the technique to advantage in the 1950s, many other artists adopted it.
We are using both techniques, mostly linocut, because since linoleum lacks a grain, linocuts can yield a greater variety of effects than woodcuts can.
Design
Each T-SHIRT has got its own story. It represents a specific problem-history that is a problem of our world. You can read about every problem after you select specific T-SHIRT.
Stories you will also find on the labels of our clothes.
